Zilberman cordially invites you to the open studio of our current artist in residence Larry Muñoz in Berlin (27/06/2024)

Thursday, June 27th, 19h
open studio
Larry Muñoz
Platform 82 | Goethestraße 82, 10623 Berlin

In his works, Larry Muñoz explores the relationships we have created with what we call nature, and how these interactions are built with the intervention of media, technology, science, politics and other structures that mediate and define them. Using sculpture, video and installation and showing a particular interest in organic elements, his artistic practice shows the ‘fragility’ and materiality of the things around us.

To conclude his residency in Berlin, Larry Muñoz will be showing a preview of his new project, in which he explores translucency as a life strategy. The artist has been working with plastic and glass as part of industrial and scientific production. Through these materials and in his presentation, Muñoz reflects on our interactions with science, the natural world and the art world.

With its residency programme, Zilberman offers artists the opportunity to live and work in Berlin for a period of two months. The residency takes place independently of the gallery’s exhibition programme, and aims to provide a space for experimentation and artistic exchange. At the end of the two months, visitors are invited to an open studio event to meet the artists. By presenting works in progress, a lecture or a performative piece, Zilberman aims to foster an ongoing dialogue between artists and different audiences.
