Yaşam Şaşmazer at Arter with her workshop The Reconstructed Face (13/01/2024)

Adult workshops, inspired by Arter's exhibition program and organized as part of the Learning Program, invite participants to experiment with various production methods and materials. The Reconstructed Face workshop, led by Yaşam Şaşmazer, took place on January 13, 2024 at Arter's Atelier space. The workshop was inspired by the artist's work Untitled (Displaced Self-Portrait) (2017), which is part of the ongoing group exhibition In Its Own Shadow. Inspired by Şaşmazer's work in which she deals with issues related to portraiture, self-portraiture, belonging and identity by incorporating various materials collected from nature, the participants of the workshop first made their own self-portraits and then interpreted them with natural materials such as leaves, branches and moss.
