Zeynep Kayan at the exhibition talk, Always Here (10/01/2024)
A series of talks was held on the occasion of the exhibition Always Here, which consists of works included in the collection with the support of the Women Artists Fund, established in 2016 as part of Istanbul Modern with the aim of supporting the work of women artists in Türkiye, increasing their recognition and strengthening the representation of women artists by adding new works to the museum's collection. The second event of the series was a talk titled Performative Practices, moderated by the assistant curator of the exhibition, Melodi Gülbaba, with the artists Mehtap Baydu and Zeynep Kayan. On the talk, the artists discussed about their artistic practices in general terms and in the context of their works in the exhibition, and discuss the role of performance and performative concepts in their production styles.
