Yüksel Arslan & Erinç Seymen: Gökyüzü Başımızın Üstüne Düşebilir (The Sky Can Fall Upon Our Heads) (07/09/2024)

The Nilüfer Municipality will host a duo exhibition curated by Derya Yücel on September 7. The exhibition, titled Gökyüzü Başımızın Üstüne Düşebilir (The Sky Can Fall Upon Our Heads), brings together the works of Yüksel Arslan and Erinç Seymen.

The exhibition aims to highlight human dilemmas through the work of two generations of artists. It features the works of Yüksel Arslan, known for his unique technique of using various natural materials to create paintings he refers to as arture, and Erinç Seymen, who challenges social norms with a strong discourse in an allegorical, phantasmatic, and elegant aesthetic universe. The exhibition creates an unsettling atmosphere by alienating the viewer from the real world and evoking ambiguous emotions through a strange combination of seemingly opposing concepts such as tragedy and humor, feminine and masculine, reality and delusion.

The exhibition, realized in collaboration with Öner Kocabeyoğlu Collection and Zilberman, will be on view at the Nâzım Hikmet Cultural Center until January 26, 2025.
